Woman’s Medical College was the first medical college for women in Toronto. Many of its students went on to become pioneers in the family planning movement in Canada. For example, Dr. Rowena Hume and Dr. Elizabeth Bagshaw were instrumental in the establishment of Canada’s first birth control clinic.
