This letter reads:

Dear Dr. Powell:

My problem is I want to go on the pill without my parents finding out.

I’m fifteen and I’m going out with a guy eighteen. We love each other very much. We have been going out with each other for a year. My parents don’t disagree. But my mother always says that if I ever get pregnant, she’d kill me. The reason for this is when her sister was sixteen she got pregnant.

Let me get to the point, I want to go on the pill, because I’m afraid that one day my boyfriend and I may go too far. I’m afraid if I ask my doctor she might tell my parents about it.

Is there any possibility that I can get on the pill without my parents finding out? Is there a number that you could give me so I could call to go on the pill?
