This letter reads:

Dear Dr. Powell:

My problem is a sexual one.

I think I am a homosexual, but I have no desire to be one.

At present, I have close friends of both sexes, and they all believe me to be “normal”. I have had 3 girlfriends, but I have always broken the relationship because I felt I was deceiving them.

I want to be normal, and need to know what kinds of counselling and cures are available.

Please don’t ignore this letter, I don’t know where else to obtain information.
