The report describes Operations PIRATE and CARPENTER, including efforts to coordinate with local resistance groups, maintain communications and arrange food and supply drops. Under CARPENTER, it records Japanese attacks near a dropping zone, disrupted communications with patrols identified by colour-coded names, and difficulties delivering supplies by aircraft. A GREEN patrol reportedly repelled a Japanese attack, while an ORANGE patrol helped locate the BLUE patrol, with which contact had been lost since 17 July. The report also describes fighting involving Japanese troops, the use of camouflaged parachutes to avoid detection, and the penetration of an ORANGE patrol camp by Japanese forces on 2 August, although its documents remained safe. These accounts illustrate the dangerous and unpredictable conditions facing Force 136 personnel and their local allies in the final weeks of the Second World War.","_thumbnail_id":297},"class_list":["post-303","csat-media-element","type-csat-media-element","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","csat-media-element-type-image","csat-chapter-usage-chapter-8"],"media_element_thumbnail":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/182\/2026\/02\/hs-1-217-38-copy-150x150.jpeg","acf":[],"lang":"en","translations":{"en":303,"fr":301},"pll_sync_post":{},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/csat-media-element\/303","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/csat-media-element"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/csat-media-element"}],"version-history":[{"count":10,"href":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/csat-media-element\/303\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2358,"href":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/csat-media-element\/303\/revisions\/2358"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/297"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.histoiresdecheznous.ca\/v3\/force-136\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=303"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
