Cantonese opera performer Miss Guang Yaoxiu is holding two elaborate ‘money flowers’ (銀紙花), decorative arrangements made from folded paper currency. In opera tradition, fans and patrons crafted these gifts to express admiration and wishes for prosperity and success. Vancouver, ca. 1942–1951.
